Product Description

Sodium metabisulfite is a white or yellow crystalline powder or small crystals. It has a strong SO2 odor and is soluble in water. The aqueous solution is acidic. When in contact with strong acids, SO2 is released to form the corresponding salts, and over a long period of exposure to the air, it is oxidized to Na2S2O6. Therefore, the product cannot be stored for a long time. Above 150 degrees Celsius, SO2 decomposes.
